Former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado has said that he is extremely disappointed with the way Blackburn Rovers treated him in the final few months of the campaign. Michel Salgado is regarded as one of the best defenders in the world. He has achieved almost everything in the game with Spanish club Real Madrid. Even though he is coming to the end of his career, he has had a lot to offer for Premier league club Blackburn ever since signing for the club a few seasons ago. His contract was coming to an end at the end of the season.

Despite their relegation problems, manager Steve Kean never picked Michel Salgado due to the fact that he would not be staying at the club next season. The 35-year-old has said that he is extremely disappointed with the way the club has treated him ever since knowing that they were not interested in keeping him next season. However, he has said that he still has a lot of for any club that signs him. He is also looking forward to playing at the top level for one more season before thinking about retirement or dropping down the divisions.

“The Premier League is amazing; it’s a really big league. The fans are fantastic and the football is totally different. It was a real challenge for me but one I loved. Allardyce was an important man for me. He was the guy who got me to England. I was 34-years-old at the time and I could have stayed at Real Madrid for one more year. It was really disappointing to end it like that because things were going okay for us when suddenly they changed everything. In the last six months I just couldn’t stay,” said Michel Salgado speaking about his Blackburn career.
