David Beckham has not been part of the LA Galaxy setup for the last couple of weeks due to his commitments with the Olympic games, while he was also absent for a few matches due to the suspension received from the MLS. This, however, has given the likes of Juninho and Marcelo Sarvas the opportunity to play regular football in the absence of David Beckham. They have said that replacing the former Manchester United winger is not going to be easy, but they are looking to improve the team as far as possible. The Brazilians are coming to the end of their stellar careers, but they still have a lot to offer to LA Galaxy according to the manager Bruce Arena.

The two players were involved in the match against Chivas USA and the Columbus crew. LA Galaxy managed a stunning 4-0 win over Chivas USA, while they could manage only a 1-1 draw with Columbus crew. After the match, Marcelo Sarvas said that he feels that both him and Juninho feel like they are connecting will on the pitch and expect results to improve in the near future. He has also said that it is certainly not easy to replace David Beckham, but they are giving their best.

“I think we are doing well. You see with the communication, the way we are thinking during the games, the way we talk. It’s hard to replace David (Beckham) because everybody knows that he’s important for this team, but when me and Juni are in midfield we did very well. We create chances, we defend well. I think we are doing a very good job,” Sarvas said. “Latinos are very passionate, and Marcelo is always motivating players on the field to do more. He’s not afraid to go out there and show that passion,” said Juninho.
